NEWS LETTER ~ JUNE 2007

   Debra Flinn –
WALKING TO RAISE MONEY FOR EL CAMINO

In August of 2006 Debra joined us on a
missionary trip to Colombia, South America
to visit El Camino Children’s Home.
Like so many others who have actually visited
this place and interacted with the children, she
was in awe of what God is doing there and her heart overflowed
with love for these precious children.

She wanted to do more to help.  But, how?  She is an ordinary woman,
but she has an extraordinary vision.  Here is her story of how she was
inspired to walk 850 miles from her home in Cape Coral, Florida to
Dandridge, Tennessee where her family owns property.

About 3 weeks ago, I was in my living room with my coffee at 5:00 AM
and I was talking to the Lord.  I have been so discouraged about my
weight and I have just been crying out to him about my Ministry and the
future of some things I have been asking the Lord about when all of the
sudden, I heard a voice say, “Why don't you walk to Dandridge?

I started laughing and started talking to the air.  I said,
"I'm fat remember?  I can't walk to Dandridge!  That’s 850 miles!"
I am 216 lbs and I am really out of shape, so I proceeded to tell
the Lord why that was impossible. He then said it again, "Why don't
you walk to Dandridge?"  I said "well, that ought to get me on the
Oprah show for sure!!! My book title could be "From Desperate to
Dandridge".  Ha, Ha, Ha!!!

Well it soon became very clear to me that the Lord was giving me
my new marching orders, so that is what I am doing.  I started
walking on Tuesday June 5th at 6:00 AM.   I am now at Osprey,
Florida (June 9).  I have walked 58 miles so far and Hey, I only have
792 miles to go!!!

I hope to make it in 60 days - that is if I can do 15 miles per day.
As you know Florida is flat but Georgia and Tennessee . . .  well, I
have some pretty steep mountains to climb!!!  So, how do you eat a
Elephant?  As I always say - one bite at a time!  So, how do you climb
a Mountain? - One step at a time! Right?

I am asking everyone to keep me in  your prayers.  I am also accepting
Sponsors to cover my expenses and any money that I raise over those
expenses will be donated to the El Camino Orphanage in South
America. I have personally visited El Camino and ministered to these
children and in 10 other churches in the area.  El Camino Children’s
Home
provides care for 40 children at the moment and they are in
need of help!

Visit http://www.myspace.com/debraflinn to see a Video Clip about this
walk to Dandridge. My web site is http://www.debraflinn.org/

I am checking my E-Mails as often as I can and I am trying to give
updates on where I am and how I am doing when ever I can get close
to a Computer. Again I thank you for your Prayers! With the Lords
strength and help I KNOW I will make it!!!

With much love, - Debra Flinn

Monday, June 11, 2007 – Today’s update on Debra’s Walk –
I just want to touch base with you all again and give a Praise report!
My ankles are doing very well! The Lord gave me the answer through
burning my finger!!!... I put ice on it and it took the inflammation out
of my finger and out of my ankles!!!

I am now in Sarasota almost to Bridgetown with in a few miles and
almost to the Bridge.  My husband walked with me over the weekend.
We walked 23 more miles and I had some time with my children as
well!!!  I have the Best Family in the world!!!

Debra’s husband, Dana, and her two
children, Casey and Tiffany fully support
  Debra in this endeavor.

Has God asked you to go the extra mile?
